I recently thought of writing some of my posts also in english, especially for the english books,
so here is my first english post …it’s about the book “cress”
What it’s about:
In this third book in Marissa Meyer’s bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and prevent her army from invading Earth.
Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl trapped on a satellite since childhood who’s only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she’s being forced to work for Queen Levana, and she’s just received orders to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.
When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is splintered. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a higher price than she’d ever expected. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai, especially the cyborg mechanic. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.
This book is again a mash-up between fairytales and a dystopian novel. This book is based on the fairytale of “rapunzel” and I really enjoyed it!
It is a great idea of mixing up these two genres and creating a whole new world, it’s simply awesome,
In this boo I really liked, that a whole new character, Cress, is coming up with her story and perfectly fits with the recent story of Cinder. I also like the love stories told in the book, they are always very charming and cute but never too citchy!
What I liked the most is Iko’s part in this book, during the two other books I really fell in love with her and now that she takes more part in this book makes me feel very happy.
The development of the characters is very fascinating, like Thorne’s for exanple…He seemed always like an arrogant, selfish ass to me, but in “Cress” you get to know him better, and what I can tell is that he is way more than that.
Furthermore, the court of Luna is presented and we get an impression of how things go there and you understand how the lunarian special power works and you get to know Princess Winter, Queen Levana’s crazy niece.
What makes “Cress” special compared to other sequels, is that “Cress” never gets boring it’s always very tensed.
Seriously, I am again totally overwhelmed by “The Lunar Chronicles” and I simply can’t wait for book 4 to get released!
I hope you liked my post!
